Storyboard complete

I am glad to announce that the storyboard portion of our 3d film is complete. The story was written by Rohan, and today Rakesh n meh completed the storyboard. Now I've given the storyboard to Rhoit to convert it using his wacom. Hope the final product will be good.
I am thinking of filming the story first, then we can get the timing and can prepare the music side by side.

Well I was supposed to wake up at 4 in the morning. My alarm rang, it was too cold. Tension in my mind... I was worried about my schedule. Well... it will take a week or two before I start waking at 4 I thought. Instead my mind went racing, I have to do this I have to do that, then bulb glowed above my head, a story that won't be that hard to make...
I was thinking about a girl dancing in room, and dreaming about performing in the idol competition, she's in front of mirror watching herself. The theres reality, wake up early, help mother in kitchen, read, wait for bus, read and read and read, scoldings from teacher, return back home tired, and then again read read n read. And then at last it asks 'Where is the TIME??? '. Its in part my own story and story of many others mayb :D, not for dancing, but many other things I wished I did during my childhood.
The problem with the story for making 3d is that the main character is a girl, and it will be harder to simulate clothes and hair. On, the bright side, character being a girl can show more power to the story and can show the problem faced by girls. The same story can be done with a guy wanting to become a football star, or a cricket player, we can also add clips of teachers beating up the student for not concentrating on studies as most of the guy in school faced at our time :). The finer details can be added in the story-boarding phase.

Going solo :D

Team work is all well and good, but sometimes you just have to take the matters on your own hand. Some three or four months ago I was asked to be a part of an animation project for competition. I was so excited about it. But soon I found that most of the team were just starting out with 3d, and most of the work will fall to meh. That was good, but the story was a bit out of the world and a bit complicated. We never started on that though. So we never know.
But theres still time, about two months, so I am trying to revive the project and do most of the things on my own. So I've asked Rohan to come up with a story and I myself am going to think about it too. Rakesh and I can do the character animations. We will have to shoot the acting video first and work out the audio. If we can plan things nice, animation won't be that much of a problem.

3d in your home computer, the possibilities, challenges and my experiences till now

3d is well,... interesting..., but something one can live without, thats the feeling I found among us in Nepal. We watch all those sci-fi movies and say wowww... kya dami animation, but do we care how they do that??? or a Nepalese movie with some 3d effects perhaps in the near future??? Well... 3d is not one thing, its a combination of many things, and one person making the whole sci-fi movie is almost impossible. I am not telling how they make those movies in the session, cuz of course I haven't made any,... but create an enthusiasm and share the experience I had as a 3d modeller in an architecture firm. I hope you guys will find it interesting, and I'd encourage especially the architecture students to attend, cuz they are the most likely to use 3d professionally right now. Well then, see u guys at BarCamp :).

The world of 3d

You sure must have watched films like toy story, ice age, shrek, or recently roadside romeo :D. Quite fascinating nah, how these animated characters can mimic and many a times, do better than their real world counterpart:). Well, I myself am a great fan :D, its just amazing. And would you believe it if I told you that you can do all those from the very computer you are reading this right now :D.
Yes, it is possible to make virtual characters, make them move around infornt of the camera, add voices and stuffs, in short, make your own animated movie, in your own computer, in the comforts of you house. But the thing is, it is not easy as watching the movie itself. It takes a lot of learning, and the sad thing is that learning the tools is only the first step :D. It is something of an art, you don’t have to know all the tools, everything doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to please the audience. (and not other way around :D). I myself have the other way around problem :D.
This whole week I am going to write about the 3d stuffs you can do at home, and how you can learn it :D, (if you want). I am not writing tutorials or something, just basic simple stuffs:).
I’ll leave you with some pictures of 3d movies you might have watched :). Please feel free to write some comments, I’d be delighted.
